What You might Experience After an SE and/or Somatic Touch Session [up to 48 hours post]
After the Session, it is important to TRANSITION SLOWLY, as much as possible, back into your regular routine to allow the experience to be processed and integrated.
Take a Moment to GROUND YOURSELF
If Possible in the next hour or so, AVOID OVERSTIMULATION.
HYDRATING YOURSELF would be beneficial.
At a minimum, drink 2-3 glasses of water; more if you can.
Remember every person’s experience is different, and in many cases, your experience post SE and/or somatic touch may be different from previous touch experiences.
You May Experience ANY of the following:
You may feel energized in the next few days as in a surge of energy.
You may feel a combination of raw, energized and exhausted as well as intensified emotions, sensations.
You may [possibly] experience magnified or new [temporary] symptoms.
You may not feel any change or like anything is different.
THIS IS NORMAL.
It is part of the SELF-REGULATORY PROCESS;
a way the system reorganizes and processes new and different information.
OBSERVE old behaviors and impulses as/if they come up.
[This is the body-mind is just trying to hold on to old and familiar patterns]
REMAIN CURIOUS about your experience[s]
Find ways to connect to your resources
NOTICE your breath,
LISTEN to your gut
And USE the SE tools you’ve learned!
As you allow the process to unfold,
Give yourself the time you need…
And To INTEGRATE…
While STAYING PRESENT TO THE CHANGES
Happening in your system[s] and your life.
